PT Stool

One Off Exhibition Piece

Project Description

The PT Stool responds to the planned job losses at Port Talbot steelworks. Made from steel, its three legs reference the strength and importance of the works to the community, while black oxidation marks the lasting impact of its closure.

2,800 nails pierce the stool’s surface, each representing a worker facing unemployment. Their rusting edges symbolise the erosion of livelihoods, families and community, reflecting the wider human cost of the decision.
